About Ken Boegeman, Jr.:
Ken Boegeman, Jr., CSP, is The Snow Expert.
Ken is no stranger to the unique needs and concerns of the commercial property industry. He is the 4th generation to be involved in both the construction and property management industry in St. Louis, Missouri. Part of that history includes helping his dad with snow removal on properties as a child and throughout his young adulthood.
Having developed a passion for snow and ice management, Ken dedicated a great deal of his time to learning best practices such as equipment and material knowledge; contract language; snow removal and deicing operational tactics; and crew, material, and slip & fall risk management.
In 2008, Ken attained the Certified Snow Professional (CSP) designation from the Snow and Ice Management Association (SIMA). The CSP is a highly sought after credential that is only awarded to an individual after they meet experience requirements and pass a written test proctored by SIMA. There are very few CSPs relative to the amount of snow removal contractors in North America. CSP testing covers fields such as snow and ice science, operations, techniques and subcontracting.
Ken co-lead an educational panel in Buffalo, NY at the Snow & Ice Symposium, an annual national 4-day event put on by SIMA.
Ken owns both Swinter Group, Inc. and SG Advantage and has snow & ice management experience in Missouri, Illinois, Kansas, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Indiana; and he has extensive knowledge in the following area:
